Facing Washington Park, the historic Newark Public Library traces its beginnings to the Newark Library Association, which was formed in 1847. Since then, many renovations have taken place with the most recent in 2011. Provided by Community Development Block Grant, the interior changes made included new carpeting, painting and ADA accessible ramps. It is part of the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the oldest sections of Newark.

CBA worked with Johnson Jones Architects & Planners and provided consulting service to 3 hydraulic passenger elevators in Newark’s public library. Services include: specifications for modernization, full elevator service maintenance contract, shop drawings review, construction administration services, and project close-out.
