Established in 1754 and originally called King’s College, this is the 5th oldest higher learning institution in the United States. Their education was designed to, “enlarge the mind, improve understanding, polish the whole man, and qualify them to support the brightest characters in all the elevated stations of life.”
In 1784 the college reopened with a new name, Columbia College. This name personified the patriotic spirit that was flying around the nation as it searched for independence. In 1897, the university moved to its present location, and renamed themselves Columbia University. It is now a private Ivy League research university in Upper Manhattan, New York City.
CBA worked directly with Columbia University to provide consulting service to 8 hydraulic passenger / freight elevators across their campus libraries. Services include: specifications for modernization, full elevator service maintenance contract, shop drawings review, construction administration services, and project close-out.
